FingerFood

Privacy Policy

Effective August 30, 2026

FingerFood is a Baby-Led Weaning companion app built around a single privacy principle: your data is your data, and it stays on your device.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect personal data linked to your identity. FingerFood does not use accounts, logins, or any form of user authentication. There is no server-side record of you, your baby, or your activity.

Data stored on your device

All baby profile, tracker, allergen, and favorites data lives on your device in encrypted on-device storage (MMKV). It never leaves your phone. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted with it.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not see, receive, or store your payment information, name, or Apple ID. RevenueCat handles entitlement state with an anonymous device identifier — never linked to your identity.

Ask-AI questions

Questions you ask the in-app AI assistant are processed transiently to generate an answer, and the questions themselves are never stored. To keep the assistant available and enforce fair-use limits, we do keep a usage counter against a randomly generated app identifier: how many requests were made and when, and the size and cost of each. That identifier is created by the app, is not your Apple ID or any device serial, and is not linked to your name, your email, or your baby's profile. It records that a request happened — never what you asked.

Crash reports

The app ships with no crash reporting enabled. The Sentry integration is present in the code but inactive: without a configured endpoint it initialises nothing and sends nothing. If we ever turn it on, it would carry a stack trace and the device model only — never personal identifiers, app contents, or anything you have entered — and we will update this policy before that happens.

Analytics

The app ships with no analytics enabled. The PostHog integration is present in the code but inactive: without a configured key it initialises nothing and sends nothing. If we ever turn it on, it would measure aggregate feature usage only — never screen contents, taps on text, or anything you type — and we will update this policy before that happens.

Content delivery

Recipes, food cards, and articles are fetched from our content delivery network. These requests are anonymous and contain no identifying information beyond a standard IP address used to route the response.

Children's data

FingerFood is a parental companion app — it is designed for the parent or caregiver to use. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The baby profile fields you enter (name, date of birth, diet) stay on your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in-app with a clear notice before they take effect.
